Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

The short version
  • You don't need an account. Your lessons, words, decks and streak stay on your iPhone.
  • When you record yourself for pronunciation practice, the recording is sent to our server and to our speech-scoring provider so we can give you a score.
  • We use Google's Firebase to see how the app is used and to receive crash reports.
  • We don't sell your personal information.

This policy explains what information the Lince app and this website handle, and why. Lince is operated by Growth Essentials, LLC ("we", "us").

1. Information that stays on your device

Your study progress, the words and decks you save, your daily goal, your streak and your settings are stored in the app on your iPhone. We don't upload them to our servers and we can't see them. If you delete the app, this information is deleted with it, unless it is part of an iCloud backup of your device.

2. Pronunciation recordings

When you tap Record (in a lesson's "Say it" step, on a pronunciation card or during setup), the app records your voice, with your permission to use the microphone. The recording and the text you were asked to read are sent to our server, which sends them to SpeechSuper, our pronunciation-assessment provider, and returns your score to the app.

Recordings are not linked to your name, e-mail address or Apple ID. We don't keep them: once a recording has been scored, our server discards it.

3. Checking that the app is genuine

To keep pronunciation scoring for genuine copies of Lince, the app uses Apple's App Attest. Our server stores a random key identifier for your installation and counts its requests to limit use. It is not linked to your name or your Apple ID. Our server also uses your IP address briefly to limit the number of requests.

4. Analytics and crash reports

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used: events such as finishing a lesson or a review, and device information such as the iPhone model, iOS and app version and approximate country. We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive reports when the app crashes. Google's privacy information is at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

5. Purchases

Lince Plus is sold by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have an active subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app identifier and your App Store purchase records (revenuecat.com/privacy).

6. Notifications

Study reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. You can turn them off in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.

7. When you contact us

If you e-mail us, we receive your e-mail address and your message and use them only to reply to you.

8. Children

Lince is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your choices

  • You can refuse microphone access; pronunciation steps can then be skipped.
  • You can turn off reminders at any time.
  • Deleting the app removes the study data stored on your device.
  • You can ask us about, or ask us to delete, information we hold by e-mailing us.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
